How to Use Recommended Titles

Using Recommended Titles: How to Set Up Recommended Titles for a Category in Cognidox

You can create one or more recommended titles for use with a particular category. Then, when users create new document numbers in that category, they can select a recommended title from a list.

This feature is one of a number of category default settings. Used in conjunction with other category defaults (such as templates, and pre-filters, described in other articles in this section), this streamlines the document creation process for end users, and makes for consistent content.

To set recommended titles:

  1. Browse to the category, click Defaults, and display the Recommended Titles tab.
  2. Enter a recommended Document Title.

You can click Variables to use predefined variables as part of the title definition. See this help topic.

  3. If the title is to be associated with a particular document type, select the document type from the drop-down list.
  4. Click button-plus to add this to the list of available titles.
(Click button-delete to remove an existing title.)
  5. Repeat to add other titles.
  6. Click Set Recommended Titles.

Now when a user creates a document in this category, they can either enter their own title, or choose from the list of recommended titles.

See this help topic.
