Synchronization
Understanding and triggering updates between Cognidox and the Extranet
Cognidox and the Extranet operate on a synchronization system that ensures published documents and access rights are kept up to date across both platforms.
How synchronization works
-
By default, Cognidox prepares and packages updates every 45 minutes past the hour.
-
These updates are then securely transferred to the Extranet server.
-
Once the transfer completes, the Extranet loads the latest documents and access settings.
This automated system ensures regular syncing without manual intervention in most cases.
Triggering a manual sync
If you need to update the Extranet immediately (e.g. after an urgent publication or access change):
-
Go to the dashboard in Cognidox.
-
In the Action Panel, select Manage Cognidox.
-
Choose Cognidox Reports.
-
From the dropdown, select Extranet Update Times.
-
Click the Start Update button.
The system will begin the transfer and, once completed, the Extranet will reflect the new data.
